AN LGBTQ FEATURE!
Sounds fair enough for the community right? And, it being Bollywood is a cherry on top.
Many would have guessed it, while many of you might haven’t even heard the name, it’s ‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga’ casting the very underrated Sonam Kapoor and her real-life father Anil Kapoor, also juhi chawla with everybody’ favourite Rajkumar Rao.
Undoubtedly, the performance, act, storytime, and most importantly the music were top-notch.
What laid back was the storyline. And so it was not a massive hit at the box office.
Starting with showing Sweety aka Sonam Kapoor a pretty lady who was SECRETLY not straight. She had to hide it from society because ofcourse, this world was not an open book to declare that yet.
Like every typical Hindi story, she had to suppress her feelings for a feminine person and marry Sahil aka Rajkumar. But as the story stretches, Sahil helps her family accept her who and how she is.
I don’t want to give spoilers for you all who haven’t watched it, so GO! Give a view to this underrated piece.
Because Bollywood needs to make more of such and make the LGBTQ community feel relatable to something.
