This Book Review Policy outlines how we accept books, the types of submissions we take, our reviewing standards, timelines, and the rights/responsibilities of authors, publishers, and publicists.

  1. Types of Books We Accept

We accept the following categories for review:

  • Fiction
  • Contemporary Fiction
  • Romance
  • Fantasy
  • Thriller / Mystery

  • Non-Fiction
  • Self-Help
  • Personal Development
  • Memoirs / Biographies

If your book does not fall into these categories, you may still submit a request, and we will review it on a case-by-case basis.

  1. Formats We Accept

We accept the following book formats:

  • Paperback / Hardback (Preferred)
  • eBooks: PDF, ePub, or Kindle copy
  • Audiobooks (Audible, MP3, or review code)
  1. Review Timeline

Our standard review timeline is:

  • 5–15 days for eBooks
  • 8–15 days for physical books (depends on shipping time)
  • We try our best to review books as early as possible, but during high-submission periods, timelines may extend.
  • Urgent reviews (e.g., release week promotions) must be discussed in advance.

All reviews on BookishKari follow these principles:

  • We never attack authors personally.

We follow a simple 5-star scale:

⭐⭐⭐ – Decent with some flaws

⭐⭐ – Not for us

⭐ – Did not enjoy

  1. Where Reviews Are Posted

Your book review may appear on:

  • in (main review page)
  • Instagram (post and story)
  • Goodreads
  • Amazon India (optional, only if purchased)
  • If you want the review posted on a specific platform, please inform us.
  1. Review Decline Policy

We may decline a book if:

  • It does not match our preferred genres
  • It contains hate speech, disturbing content, or plagiarism
  • The request is incomplete or unclear
  • The tone is disrespectful or abusive
  • Declining a review does not reflect on the author or the book.
  1. Sponsored Reviews

We do accept paid promotional features, such as:

  • Instagram reels
  • Featured posts
  • Author interviews
  • Giveaway collaborations
  • However:
  • Payment guarantees visibility, NOT a positive rating.
  • Sponsored content is always clearly disclosed.
  1. ARC (Advance Review Copy) Policy
  • We accept ARCs.
  • Reviews for ARCs will be posted on or after the official release date, unless otherwise discussed.
